Creativity and innovation
Roger Mavity has many years' experience in senior management and is currently CEO of the Conran Group.
He is a prominent speaker on leadership and how to nurture creativity and innovation within a corporate environment. He is able to advise on effective communication and pitching for new business.
Roger started his career in advertising. He launched his own agency, Mavity Gilmore, in 1981 and his clients included Minolta, Burberry, Nestlé and Honda. He sold to a French group in 1991 and joined Granada Ltd., where he was Chief Executive of the Leisure Division and then the Technology Division. He also handled PR and communications for Granada's bid for the Forte Group, the largest successful hostile takeover in UK commercial history. In 2003 he left to join communication consultancy Citigate Dewe Rogerson as Chairman. In 2006 he became Chief Executive of Conran Holdings, the parent company of Terence Conran's business. He is also Chairman of Hudson Sandler, a specialist financial PR company.
He co-authored, with Stephen Bayley, Life's a Pitch, a bestselling guide to presentation skills. He has also written articles for several British newspapers, including the Observer and The Times. In 2008 he achieved a Masters degree in Photographic Studies and his photography has since been exhibited in art shows in Paris, Amsterdam, Ghent, Brussels and London.
